Friends of the Music

The Friends of the Music was established in 1983 by choir members, musicians and lovers of church music to support and help develop music in Holy Trinity.  The Friends support the work of the Church Choir and Music Group and organise a programme of fundraising events and concerts throughout the year.
 
In 2008, the Friends presented Holy Trinity with a chamber organ and two years later, in time for the church’s 800th anniversary celebrations, a small grand piano was purchased.  The two instruments have greatly enriched the services, as well as being appreciated by visiting choirs and orchestras. 
 
In 2014, the Friends presented Holy Trinity with an electric piano, which was purchased to replace an existing old upright piano.
 
Each year, the Friends commission a new anthem which is heard for the first time at the Shakespeare Service, which occurs during the Shakespeare Birthday Celebrations weekend.
