Holy Trinity, Stratford, on the banks of the River Avon, is probably England's most visited Parish Church. As well as being a thriving Parish church, it receives many thousands of visitors each year due to the fact that William Shakespeare was baptised here, worshipped here, and is buried in the chancel.

Soundbites Free Concerts in August 

This Wednesday at 1.00 pm soprano Kathryn Ellis will perfom a recital. 

Sandwiches and other refreshments will be available from 12.30 p.m.  Any money raised will help the Friends support the music of Holy Trinity.

 

Church Closures

NO ACCESS TO SHAKESPEARE'S grave at the following times:

 

Regular closures:

Chancel is closed (no access to Shakespeare's grave) on Tuesdays 10 am - 11.15 am for Holy Communion. Rest of church open to visitors. 

There is no access to Shakespeare's grave on Sunday mornings, when services are taking place. Church is usually open to visitors 12.15 - 5 pm on Sundays, unless Baptisms are taking place after the morning service, when church will be closed until 1.30 pm. 

Other closures: 

Wednesday 20th August

There is no access to the grave during the Soundbites concert at 1.00 through to 1.30 pm. 

Thursday 21st August

The church will be closed to visitors between approx. 10.00am and 12.00 noon for the following service: 

Funeral Service for Iris Withers. 

Friday 22nd August

The church will be closed to visitors between approx.1.00 pm and 3.00pm for the following service:

Wedding of James Cutler & Katie Vincent   

Saturday 23rd August

The church will be closed to visitors between approx. 12.30pm and 2.30pm for the following  service: 

Wedding of Benjamin Scott and Anna Watson.

Every week: Morning Prayer in St Peter's Chapel (access allowed to other parts of the church)  at 9.30 am on Mondays, 9.15 am Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays.

On Sundays there are services at 8 am, 10.30 am and 6 pm  (no access to Shakespeare's grave during services - but visitors are very welcome to attend)
