Holy Trinity, Stratford, on the banks of the River Avon, is probably England's most visited Parish Church. As well as being a thriving Parish church, it receives many thousands of visitors each year due to the fact that William Shakespeare was baptised here, worshipped here, and is buried in the chancel.

Soundbites Free Concerts in September 

This Wednesday at 1.00 pm we will have an Organ recital by Stephen Dodsworth. 

Sandwiches and other refreshments will be available from 12.30 p.m.  Any money raised will help the Friends support the music of Holy Trinity.


Church Closures

NO ACCESS TO SHAKESPEARE'S grave at the following times:


Regular closures:



On Mondays at 4.15 - 5.30 we have a Choral Evensong Service during which the church is closed except for those wishing to participate. On at Tuesdays 9.45am - 11.15 am we hold midweek Holy Communion during this the church will remain open to visitors however there will be no access to Shakespeare's Grave. You are, of course, welcome to join in our worship. 

There is no access to Shakespeare's grave on Sunday mornings, when services are taking place. Church is usually open to visitors 12.15 - 5 pm on Sundays, unless Baptisms are taking place after the morning service, when church will be closed until 1.30 pm.

Wednesday 1 October

There is no access to the grave during the Soundbites concert at 1.00 through to 1.30 pm.

Saturday 4 

The church will close today at 11.30pm untill 1.30 approx. for the wedding of Daniel Spiller & Mai-i Shen

Every week: Morning Prayer in St Peter's Chapel (access allowed to other parts of the church)  at 9.30 am on Mondays, 9.15 am Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays.

On Sundays there are services at 8 am, 10.30 am and 6 pm  (no access to Shakespeare's grave during services - but visitors are very welcome to attend)
