Holy Trinity in the Community
Holy Trinity in the Community (HTIC) is the charitable arm of our church. Run by a small team of volunteers, its focus is to provide help to people living in Stratford who have genuine needs.
Referrals come primarily from health visitors, social workers, the food bank, clergy and other charities. We do not advertise, preferring to keep a quiet, dignified, low profile. Very importantly, HTIC is non-judgemental on all referrals.
Funding is provided through a tithe of Holy Trinity’s shop profits (c£3,500 pa) and we receive donations such as furniture, electrical goods and household items all of which are redistributed. We source items such as school uniforms, washing machines, fridges and cookers from local shops and pre-owned furniture from the Shakespeare’s Hospice. Practical help includes gardening and minor DIY.
HTIC also leads on the distribution of Christmas collections money (c£4,500 pa) and the Samaritan’s Purse – send a shoebox – campaign.
