FOSSE DEANERY 29 DAYS OF PRAYER Throughout the 29 days of February, the 29 churches in the Fosse Deanery are uniting in prayer. Every day, one of the churches will be praying for its own needs, supported in prayer by the rest of the deanery. A BASIC INTRODUCTION TO THE PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION on Tuesday 7 February at 7.15pm in the Parish Hall Lounge, led by Revd Stuart Labran.  This week:  “Is Religious Language Meaningless?”

 

OPEN TO GOD An hour long service of contemporary worship and images next Saturday, 11 February at 6.15pm. The next three services will look at our values: holiness, humility and hospitality. This month's service is entitled 'A Heavenly Banquet'. It will focus on hospitality and include painting and doughnuts! Everyone is very welcome!

WRITTEN TO BE HEARD.  To mark the end of the year’s celebrations of the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible, RSC Chief Associate Director Greg Doran, along with other members of the company, and the Revd Martin Gorick, will be hosting an evening on Thursday, 1st March 2012 at 7.30 p.m. in Holy Trinity Church, to discuss the creation and legacy of the 1611 translation for the English language along with extracts from both the King James Bible and David Edgar’s play Written on the Heart.  All profits from the evening will go to the Friends of Shakespeare’s Church .  Tickets:  £8.00 (under 16s free) from Holy Trinity Church Shop and RSC Box Office (0844 800 1110)

 

TRINITY PLAYERS INVITE YOU TO JOIN US IN THE HOUSE OF BERNARDA ALBA at The Shakespeare Institute, Church Street, on 2 March at 7.30pm and 3 March 2pm and 7.30pm. Tickets £9.50; £7.50 (Conc.); £5 students are available from the Church Shop.  A masterpiece of love and loathing, it is directed by Ursula Russell assisted by Chris Cornford with a set designed by Garrick Huscared.

 

PALM CROSSES Please could you bring any palm crosses into the Parish Office or Church so they can be turned to ash for Ash Wednesday.

 

TRINITY MEAD PRAYER WALKING CONTINUES... Please sign up on the sheet at the back of church to join others for an hour of walking around Trinity Mead and praying for the residents. Times and days of week vary. For more information please speak to Rachel on 07815 793625.

 

ANNUAL REPORT OF ACTIVITIES 1 JANUARY - 31 DECEMBER 2011 INCLUSIVE. We would be grateful to receive reports from PCC Teams, project and group leaders for the year 1 January – December 2011 in the next few weeks or at least no later than Friday 30 March.  We hope to be able to issue the Annual Report ahead of The Annual Parochial Church Meeting which will be held on Sunday, 29 April in the Parish Hall. 

 

SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN & VULNERABLE ADULTS TRAINING A list of Safeguarding training in the Diocese is on the board at the back of church. The basic course is for those working (running and helping) with young people and children on behalf of Holy Trinity Church. There is also a Vulnerable Adults course for those working (running and helping) with vulnerable adults on behalf of Holy Trinity Church. A Module 2 course for those who have completed the Basic Course will be held at Holy Trinity Parish Centre on Monday 26 March at 10.30 am. Anyone who is interested in attending a course please contact Sandra Sladden on 295498.
